In the second quarter of 2023, the top five social apps on the Android platform in Ghana showcased diverse performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

TikTok experienced significant growth in weekly revenue, starting at around $1K and peaking at approximately $2.6K by the end of June. Downloads saw a sharp decline from early April, dropping from over 100K to around 25K by the end of the quarter. Despite this, weekly active users increased steadily from 1.8M to nearly 2M.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App maintained a consistent revenue stream, fluctuating around the $200-$300 mark, with a peak at $367 in mid-June. Downloads varied, starting at 7.8K and ending at 3.4K. Active users showed a slight decline overall but ended on a positive note, increasing from 17.1K to 14.6K throughout the quarter.

Tango- Live Stream, Video Chat saw a gradual rise in weekly revenue, starting at $68 and peaking at $282 in mid-June. Downloads were relatively stable with a slight upward trend, culminating at 350 by the end of June. Active users remained steady, fluctuating around the 6.7K to 7.2K mark.

Unlimited Texting, Calling App showed a consistent revenue pattern, starting at $123 and finishing at $194. Downloads peaked at 2.6K in early April and maintained a steady flow around the 2K mark. Active users saw a significant increase from 3.2K to 11K by the end of the quarter.

OK: Social Network had modest revenue growth, starting at $118 and peaking at $275 in late May. Downloads were relatively low, with a peak of 109 in late May. Active users saw a slight increase, ending the quarter at 331 from an initial 316.
